NSF Awards $21.5 Million for New AI Institute for Human-AI Cooperation in Healthcare

The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) has launched the AI Institute for Human-AI Cooperation (NSF HAIC) with a five-year, $21.5 million award. Led by the University of Delaware with over 40 partners including Penn, the institute will focus on pioneering AI's role in improving healthcare by developing human-centered AI systems that support, rather than replace, human decision-making.
