NASA Wants to Float Microscopic 'Tracers' on Sunlight to Map the Edge of Space

A new technology from Benjamin Schafer of Rarefied Technologies, which received a NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts (NIAC) grant, aims to deploy a fleet of microscopic sensors that can float in the 'ignorosphere' (between 30-100 kilometers up) for months. This initiative seeks to provide insights into long-term atmospheric patterns that influence global climate dynamics, addressing a region difficult to study with traditional balloons or satellites.
