Caltech Establishes AI-Driven Remote Lab for Molecular Structure Analysis

Caltech received a $17 million NSF grant to create ELECTRA, an automated, remotely accessible lab. Led by Professor Hosea Nelson, it will use microcrystal electron diffraction and AI to determine 3D molecular structures, aiming to accelerate scientific discovery across various fields. This cloud-based system is expected to significantly speed up molecular structure deciphering.
