Astronomers Discover a New Type of Astrophysical Object: A 'Black Hole Star'

Astronomers, including researchers from MIT, have discovered a bizarre object in the early universe that appears to be a new type of astrophysical entity, dubbed a 'black hole star.' This object resembles an enormous star but emits energy at levels more akin to a black hole, producing roughly 100 billion times more energy than any known star. The mysterious red object, detected by the James Webb Space Telescope, may consist of a black hole approximately 100,000 times the mass of the Sun, encased within a dense, star-like cocoon of hydrogen roughly the size of our solar system.
