Neptune's Tiny Moons May Be Debris from Shattered Ancient Worlds

Observations from NASA's James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) have revealed unexpected chemical compositions on Neptune's inner moons, including Larissa, Galatea, and Proteus. These findings suggest that the moons are likely the remnants of larger icy moons that were destroyed during the capture of Triton, Neptune's largest moon.
