New Solid Oxide Fuel Cells Operate at Lower Temperatures
Scientists from UT San Antonio and collaborators have developed solid oxide fuel cells that function effectively at significantly lower temperatures. This advance, achieved by enhancing oxygen ion movement through a thermal shock technique, removes a major obstacle to the commercial viability of these highly efficient, pollution-free energy sources. The research was published in Science Advances.
