Atomic 'Photocopier' Could Accelerate Quantum Device Development

Researchers from MIT and Oak Ridge National Laboratory have reported a method to deterministically move atoms repeatedly within a material's 3D atomic lattice, effectively creating an "atomic photocopier." This breakthrough could significantly speed up the creation of advanced materials for smaller, faster, and more energy-efficient quantum devices, dense magnetic memory, and advanced sensors.
