Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Develops More Robust Method for Entangling Trapped-Ion Qubits

Scientists at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology have created a more robust process for entangling trapped-ion qubits. This advancement, published in Physical Review Letters, provides better building blocks for ion-based quantum computers by making the entanglement process more forgiving and allowing operation at higher temperatures, reducing calibration needs, and paving the way for scalability.
