New MTG-I2 Satellite Launched to Enhance Weather Forecasting, Especially in Africa

The Meteosat Third Generation Imager 2 (MTG-I2) satellite was successfully launched aboard an Ariane 62 rocket from Kourou, French Guiana. This mission is expected to provide valuable data for weather forecasting, civil protection, and disaster response in Africa and Europe. MTG-I2 will deliver images of Europe and North Africa every 2.5 minutes, doubling the frequency of previous Meteosat satellites and significantly benefiting regions with limited ground-based weather infrastructure.
