Europe's New Weather Satellite Constellation Completed with Successful Launch of MTG-Imager 2

The Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) constellation, Europe's advanced weather satellite system, is now complete following the successful launch of the MTG-Imager 2 (MTG-I2) aboard an Ariane 6 launcher. The satellite was injected into its geostationary transfer orbit 36 minutes after liftoff, marking a significant milestone in European weather forecasting and Earth observation. This completion ensures the continuous availability of high-quality weather, climate, and Earth observation data well into the 2040s.
