New Seismic Analysis Suggests Stronger Cascadia Megaquake Impact for Northern Oregon

A new seismic analysis indicates that the Juan de Fuca plate beneath northern Oregon is shallower than previously thought, which could lead to significantly stronger shaking from a future Cascadia megathrust earthquake. Scientists also identified a deep basin under Tillamook that may amplify seismic waves.
