CERN Accelerators Begin Long Shutdown for Hi-Luminosity LHC Upgrades

CERN's accelerator complex, including the injector complex and Antimatter Factory, has entered Long Shutdown 3 (LS3) after completing final particle beam operations. This extensive period involves maintenance, consolidation, and upgrades to prepare for the High-Luminosity LHC (HiLumi LHC) era. Operations are expected to resume progressively from 2028, with HiLumi LHC scheduled for mid-2030, enhancing future physics research capabilities.
