WMO Predicts Strong El Niño to Continue Through Early 2027, Increasing Global Weather Risks

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) forecasts a very strong El Niño event will persist with near 100% certainty through February 2027. This intensification, driven by exceptionally warm tropical Pacific Ocean conditions, is expected to significantly alter global rainfall and temperature patterns, increasing the likelihood of extreme weather events worldwide.
