Scientists discover a massive 10-sided wave pattern at Saturn's south pole

Astronomers have identified an enormous decagonal (10-sided) wave pattern swirling in the icy ammonia clouds over Saturn's south pole. This newly observed jet stream formation, captured by the Hubble Space Telescope, appears to be larger and more unstable than the well-known hexagon at Saturn's north pole, challenging previous assumptions about the planet's atmospheric dynamics. The findings were published in the journal Science Advances.
