Astronomers discover a massive 10-sided wave pattern swirling in Saturn's south pole clouds

Scientists have identified an enormous decagonal (10-sided) wave pattern in the icy ammonia clouds over Saturn's south pole. This newly observed phenomenon, captured by the Hubble Space Telescope, appears to be larger and more dynamic than the well-known hexagon at Saturn's north pole. The discovery challenges previous assumptions about the uniqueness of Saturn's polygonal atmospheric features and offers new insights into the weather patterns of giant gas planets.
