ESA's BepiColombo mission begins Mercury arrival phase after eight years in space

The European Space Agency (ESA) has reported that its BepiColombo mission, a joint endeavor with JAXA, is now arriving at Mercury after an eight-year journey. The Mercury Transfer Module (MTM) successfully separated, and the two spacecraft will enter orbit around Mercury in November 2026, with the science phase beginning in April 2027.
