A new study published in the Journal of Cleaner Production presents a comprehensive lifecycle CO2 emission inventory for the passenger car fleet in EU-27 countries. The research highlights that electrification can lead to true net-zero CO2 results when assessed with a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)-equivalent method, moving beyond the current focus on Tank-to-Wheel emissions.
