AI Predicts Two New Superconducting Materials, Advancing Zero-Loss Energy Research

An international team of physicists has utilized machine learning to identify two previously unknown superconducting compounds, YRu₃B₂ and LuRu₃B₂. Researchers at Aalto University in Finland trained a machine-learning model to search through untested chemical structures, which were then synthesized and confirmed by physicists at Rice University. This breakthrough could accelerate the discovery of new superconductors, moving closer to practical applications for zero-loss energy transmission.
