AI System Developed for Rapid Fusion Plasma Control
Researchers at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory and Princeton University have developed PACMAN, an AI system capable of monitoring and controlling fusion plasma within milliseconds. This system demonstrated the ability to predict and prevent damaging instabilities approximately 200 milliseconds before they occur, significantly faster than human operators. The findings are detailed in a new *Nuclear Fusion* paper.
