New Horizons Spacecraft Transmits New Solar Wind Data from Outer Solar System

NASA's New Horizons probe, now 6 billion miles from Earth, has provided new data on the solar wind. After waking from hibernation, the spacecraft measured a 13-15% slowdown of the solar wind in the outer solar system due to interactions with interstellar atoms. This finding, published in The Astrophysical Journal, enhances understanding of the boundary between our solar system and interstellar space.
