NOAA Updates El Niño Advisory, Predicting a Very Strong Event for Northern Hemisphere Fall and Winter 2026-27

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued an updated El Niño Advisory, confirming the presence and strengthening of El Niño. There is a greater than 90% chance of a very strong El Niño event during the Northern Hemisphere fall and winter of 2026-27, with a 69% chance of a historic event exceeding previous strengths since 1950 during the October-December 2026 season.
