ESA's Meteosat Third Generation Imager 2 (MTG-I2) satellite reaches final orbit

Europe's Meteosat Third Generation Imager 2 (MTG-I2) satellite has successfully reached its designated geostationary orbit at 36,000 km from Earth. This milestone, achieved just 12 days after its launch aboard an Ariane 6 rocket, marks the completion of the launch and early orbit phase (LEOP). The satellite is now ready to begin its commissioning phase, preparing to provide enhanced weather forecasting services over Europe and North Africa for years to come.
