James Webb Space Telescope reveals new insights into objects beyond Neptune

New studies utilizing data from NASA's James Webb Space Telescope and the Hubble Space Telescope have provided the most comprehensive census to date of Trans-Neptunian Objects (TNOs). Researchers identified 27 new TNOs, some as small as six miles wide, in a small patch of sky, revealing that the Kuiper Belt does not consist mostly of dust and crumbs as previously thought. The findings, published in The Astronomical Journal, offer a detailed look at the formation and evolution of these distant planetary building blocks.
