Europe's Meteosat Third Generation Imager 2 (MTG-I2) Satellite Reaches Final Geostationary Orbit

Europe's Meteosat Third Generation Imager 2 (MTG-I2) satellite has successfully reached its designated geostationary orbit at 36,000 km from Earth, 12 days after its launch on an Ariane 6 rocket. The satellite is now ready to begin its commissioning phase, preparing to provide improved weather forecasting services over Europe and North Africa, and joining its two sister satellites in orbit to complete the first family of MTG satellites.
