NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope to map dark matter and discover 100,000 exoplanets

The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, launched by NASA on August 30, 2026, is now on its three-month journey to the second Lagrange point (L2). Repurposing spy satellite technology, the telescope features a 2.4-meter primary mirror, identical to Hubble's, but offers a field of view over 100 times wider. Its mission includes identifying approximately 100,000 exoplanets and unraveling the mysteries of dark matter and dark energy by mapping billions of galaxies.
