AI System Measures Fish Temperature Tolerance for Climate Research

Researchers from Nagoya University and the University of Fukui developed an AI system to automatically detect fish loss of equilibrium due to temperature stress. Combining DeepLabCut and ResNet34, this system objectively measures temperature tolerance differences among fish strains and species. The findings, published in Scientific Reports, have implications for predicting climate change impacts on fish populations and informing conservation efforts.
