IBM and NASA Launch Open-Source AI for Lunar Exploration

IBM and NASA have released the open-source NASA-IBM Lunar Foundation Model, an AI tool designed to analyze lunar observation data. This model aims to help scientists identify ice deposits, map craters for safe landing sites, and study volcanic features on the Moon. Trained on extensive NASA mission datasets, the AI is expected to significantly advance scientific exploration and support plans for a sustained human presence on the Moon.
