NASA and IBM Launch Open-Source AI Model for Lunar Data Analysis

NASA and IBM Research have released the open-source NASA-IBM Lunar Foundation Model, an AI tool for analyzing lunar surface data. Trained on Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter data, it enhances the identification of ice deposits, crater mapping, and volcanic feature studies by up to 23% compared to traditional methods. This model is expected to significantly aid future lunar exploration efforts.
