Hubble and Webb Telescopes Conduct Largest Census of Distant Icy Worlds Beyond Neptune

For the first time, scientists have combined observations from NASA's Hubble and James Webb Space Telescopes to conduct the most sensitive study of Trans-Neptunian Objects (TNOs) to date. The research, published in The Astronomical Journal, revealed fewer small TNOs than expected and showed that their colors follow the same relationships as larger members of their family. This comprehensive census provides new insights into the early stages of planet formation and the composition of the Kuiper Belt.
