James Webb Space Telescope Reveals Unexpected Changes in Asteroid Chariklo's Rings

Astronomers using the James Webb Space Telescope have discovered significant and unexpected changes in the two rings surrounding 10199 Chariklo, an outer-solar-system object. Since their initial discovery in 2013, one ring has darkened considerably, while the other has thinned to near invisibility.
