NASA and IBM Release Open-Source AI Model for Lunar Exploration

NASA and IBM have jointly released the Lunar Foundation Model, an open-source artificial intelligence tool designed to analyze decades of lunar observation data. This model aims to accelerate scientific progress by identifying hidden relationships across various types and resolutions of lunar data, including potential ice deposits, craters, and volcanic formations. It is expected to support the establishment of a sustained human presence on the Moon.
