Webb Space Telescope Discovers Surprising Changes in Asteroid Chariklo's Rings

Observations by the James Webb Space Telescope reveal unexpected changes in the two rings surrounding the Centaur object 10199 Chariklo since their discovery in 2013. One ring has significantly darkened, and the other has thinned out, adding to the mystery of ring formation around small bodies. The findings are reported to appear in Science Advances.
