CERN Experiment Reveals Strange Gluon Behavior Inside Atomic Nuclei
Physicists at CERN, using the ALICE experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, have made the first multidimensional measurement of incoherent J/ψ photonuclear production. This allowed them to peer deep inside atomic nuclei with unprecedented spatial resolution, revealing a surprising drop in J/ψ production that challenges conventional explanations and provides new evidence to distinguish between competing theories of gluon behavior.
