Preprint Examines Real-Time Instanton Dynamics in Quantum Field Theory

A new preprint investigates real-time instanton dynamics within quantum field theory, specifically in a triple-well to double-well homotopy. The research indicates that real-time singularities found in analytically continued double-well instantons are not inherent to Minkowski tunneling but are a degenerate limiting phenomenon. The authors constructed a family of potentials with regular and bounded real-time instanton solutions.
