Gelatin Hydrogel Salbutamol Study Retracted Over Overlapping Microscopy Images

A study on delivering the asthma drug salbutamol sulphate through gelatin-based swellable hydrogels has been retracted from the scientific record by the Editors-in-Chief of Polymer Bulletin, a Springer Nature journal. The retraction was due to concerns regarding image overlap in microscopy images used for toxicity evaluation, specifically in Figure 7f between the Control and Unloaded hydrogel groups. This duplication undermined the comparison the toxicity section was designed to establish, leading to a loss of confidence in the presented data.
