Scientists Uncover Massive Heat Anomaly in Mars's Southern Mantle

Using a technique called tidal tomography, developed by Brown University researchers, scientists have discovered a region beneath Mars's southern hemisphere that is 200 to 400 degrees Celsius warmer than the rest of the planet. This finding, published in the journal Nature, sheds new light on the Red Planet's evolution over the past four billion years.
