JWST Observes Rapid Changes in Chariklo's Ring System

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has detected surprising and rapid changes in the ring system of Chariklo, a centaur object. Observations show the inner ring becoming more opaque and the outer ring less opaque over a few years, challenging previous assumptions about the stability of ring systems around small solar system bodies.
