Hubble Space Telescope Confirms Discovery of Giant 10-Sided Atmospheric Wave on Saturn

Observations from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope have confirmed the existence of a giant, 10-sided atmospheric wave, dubbed a 'decagon,' encircling Saturn's south pole. This large atmospheric wave is embedded within one of Saturn's powerful jet streams and extends through multiple layers of the planet's atmosphere. The discovery, initially spotted by an amateur astronomer and published in the journal Science Advances, marks the first time such a regular-sided jet pattern has been identified in Saturn's southern hemisphere.
