Scientists at the University of Gothenburg, in collaboration with Stockholm University and Chalmers University of Technology, have successfully created diamondiyne, a novel three-dimensional carbon material. Described as a porous diamond with a tetrahedral basic shape, this material had previously only been theorized. The study, published in Angewandte Chemie, opens new avenues for investigating its properties and potential applications, including the possibility of interweaving multiple diamondiyne structures.
