MIT team develops swallowable paper battery for ingestible electronics
Researchers at MIT have developed a bioresorbable, paper-like battery designed to power tiny ingestible electronic devices for up to three days before safely dissolving in the body. This innovation could lead to a new generation of electronic pills for health monitoring, medication verification, or stomach stimulation, eliminating the need for conventional batteries that remain in the body. The battery utilizes a magnesium electrode, a molybdenum trioxide electrode, and a biodegradable gel.
