New Preprint Proposes Constant-Depth Quantum Circuits for Preparing One-Dimensional Quantum Gibbs States
A new preprint on arXiv demonstrates that the Gibbs state of any spin chain can be precisely decomposed into a mixture of product states over contiguous qubit blocks of bounded length, regardless of constant temperature. This theoretical advance in quantum physics suggests that such Gibbs states can be prepared using local unitary circuits of constant depth, with efficient classical preprocessing. (Note: This is a preprint and has not yet been peer-reviewed.)
