ESA's Hera Mission Prepares for Asteroid System Approach Maneuvers

The European Space Agency's Hera mission is preparing for crucial braking maneuvers on October 15 to match the orbital velocity of the Didymos binary asteroid system. This operation, involving a 93-minute thruster burn, will enable Hera to closely investigate Dimorphos, the asteroid previously impacted by NASA's DART mission. This is a critical step for planetary defense research.
