Scientists Uncover Hidden Factor Crucial for Chemical Reaction Success, Boosting Product Yield to 97%

Researchers at Seoul National University College of Engineering have identified 'local pH' as a previously overlooked factor that can determine the success or failure of chemical reactions. By precisely controlling acidity near electrodes, they dramatically improved the production of valuable chemical ingredients, increasing the desired product proportion from approximately 16% to 97%. This breakthrough could lead to safer, cleaner, and more efficient chemical manufacturing processes, utilizing oxygen and electricity instead of hazardous oxidants.
