MIT Bengaluru Launches Quantum-Hub@MAHE with 25-Qubit System to Advance Quantum Technology in India

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has inaugurated the Manipal House of Quantum, or Quantum-Hub@MAHE, at MIT Bengaluru. This new facility aims to support quantum engineering, hardware experimentation, and indigenous technology development in India. It begins operations with a 25-qubit open-architecture dilution refrigeration system, with plans to scale up to 150-qubit proof-of-concept platforms and eventually industrial systems exceeding 1,000 qubits. The initiative will also focus on workforce training, aiming to train 100 quantum engineers by December 2026.
