CERN and Mistral AI Partner to Develop 'Flare' AI Model for Scientific Discovery

The European physics research center CERN and Mistral AI have formed a long-term strategic partnership to develop a foundation model for scientific discovery, named 'Flare'. This AI model will be trained on billions of simulated particle collisions from the Large Hadron Collider to advance AI capabilities for the physics community, aiming to replace specialized algorithms currently used for particle reconstruction and identification.
