Scientists Discover How to Turn Cancer-Fueling Protein into a Weapon Against Tumors

Researchers at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory have found a method to transform a protein, PPARD, which typically promotes cancer growth, into an agent that fights it. By activating PPARD in immune cells, they enhanced the cells' ability to burn fat and attack tumors, leading to slowed or halted cancer growth in laboratory experiments. This approach shows promise for treating colorectal, breast, and ovarian cancers, as well as melanoma.
