Scientists Demonstrate Ultrafast, High-Accuracy Quantum Operations
Scientists from Jülich, Aachen, and Cologne have achieved quantum operations on a superconducting transmon qubit in 6.8 nanoseconds with over 99.98% accuracy. This significant advancement, published in Nature Communications, is much faster than typical operations and addresses multiphoton transitions that hinder quantum error correction. While currently demonstrated on a single qubit, these results establish a new benchmark for quantum gates and offer crucial insights for improving future quantum systems.
