IOC Lifts Suspension of Russian Olympic Committee, Paving Way for Athletes' Return

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has provisionally lifted its suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), allowing Russian athletes to compete in international events, including qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. The decision comes after the ROC was suspended in October 2023 for recognizing regional Olympic councils in Russian-occupied parts of Ukraine. The IOC has not yet decided on the display of the Russian flag, colors, or anthem at the Games.
