Washington Nationals All-Star outfielder James Wood has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a mild left oblique strain. The injury occurred Monday night while batting against the Philadelphia Phillies. Wood, 23, is in his third MLB season and made his second All-Star team this year, batting .265 with 30 homers and 73 RBIs in 114 games before the injury.
