Atlanta United acquires Uruguayan midfielder Mauricio Amaro

Atlanta United has announced the acquisition of 21-year-old Uruguayan youth international midfielder Mauricio Amaro from Defensor Sporting. Amaro is under contract through the 2028-29 season with an option for 2029-30 and will occupy U22 Initiative and international roster slots. He recorded two assists in 64 appearances for Defensor Sporting.
